What is Our Why?

Our education ecosystem provides a space where we work to unite and empower leaders and educators of color by creating opportunities where we can build our network, social capital, and elevate our voices. This work involves everyone and so we welcome all but specifically focus on creating a supportive space for groups of people that historically have been underserved and marginalized.

EduLeaders of Color RI will be hosting September through December meetups virtually.

Presenter line-up:

Larry Irvin is the Chief Executive Officer for Brothers Empowered to Teach (BE2T), where he ensures the overall vision and culture for BE2T and is the chief fundraiser. Larry is the creator and mastermind of ‘The Cipher’, which is BE2T’s in-house personal and professional development space.

Duanecia Clark serves as Chief of Staff on Teach For America’s (TFA) DC regional team. In addition to this, she is a 2020 Pahara Institute NextGen fellow and is pursuing her master’s degree in Education Policy and Management at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. In 2020, Duanecia co-founded The Creative Summer Company - a creative services agency that empowers mission consistent, Black-owned brands and businesses. The Creative Summer Company leverages quality strategy, content, design, and research to close the competitive gap between Black-owned businesses and their competitors.
